Passionately Optimistic

Think of the most optimistic person you know.  Now ask yourself, “Are they a great problem solver?” Chances are, the answer is a resounding YES!  Leaders who are passionately optimistic see potential where others do not.  They look for solutions to problems still unsolved.  Their infectious positivity will either encourage and validate your good work, or convict you to change your behavior.  Optimistic thinking like this keeps us sharp as leaders and encourages like-minded educators to gravitate toward us.

TAKE ACTION

It’s one thing to be passionate.  It’s another to be optimistic.  But what we’re trying to do is to be passionate about being optimistic.  Getting into this zone isn’t always easy when mandates and initiatives flood your classroom or office.  Knowing that, here are a two easy steps to begin your morning in such a way that creates the habit of being someone who is "All-In" on being passionately optimistic:

1. Remind yourself daily that you are a good leader who cares.  Saying these words out loud will develop a loop of positive thinking related to your capabilities.

2. Find someone every day who encourages you and tell them why.  Doing so helps them develop a loop of positive thinking related to their capabilities.

BE BOLD

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”

-Roy T. Bennett-
