So Much to Celebrate

This past year my daughter participated in an equestrian event for children and adults with special needs. From kids born with Autism and Down Syndrome, to Army vets who lost limbs in battle, the challenges of the participant were as unique as the horses they rode.  I watched and was inspired as each competitor made their way through a designated obstacle course with their horse.  Every so often an individual would experience extreme challenges completing the task.  Sometimes their anxieties would get the best of them, and other times the horse just wouldn’t cooperate.  As I watched this happen to one particular youngster, a fellow observer in the stands leaned over to me and said, “Sometimes, just getting on the horse is a victory worth celebrating.”

TAKE ACTION

We are all in varied seasons of life, not just as professionals but as human beings.  What comes easy to others may be incredibly challenging to you or I.  This holds true for our kids as well.  We must always remember that celebration doesn’t always have to be prompted by extraordinary results or efforts. Many of our children and colleagues are battling just to get on the horse each morning. Let’s be sure to celebrate that from time to time.

BE BOLD
