Mentor Someone: Three Ways to Be a Better Mentor

Ask more than you answer:
It’s so much easier to be the one who talks, but a great mentor is able to listen in an effort to seek the needs of their mentee.

Map out a goal centered pathway:
The best mentors always have the end in mind and move forward in a consistent way. This starts by meeting with their mentee regularly and taking part in purposeful conversations.

Go beyond your comfort zone:
Mentoring the "natural up and comers" isn't necessarily the next best step for a Servant Leader. The more successful you become as a mentor, the more you need to stretch yourself to help those who may not be so easy to work with.

TAKE ACTION

Choose a mentee and set your calendar to connect with them in person, on the phone, or via email/text at least once a week.

BE BOLD
