Expand a "Bit"

I have found, almost without exception, that the hardest I’ve ever laughed with my colleagues all started with one brief moment.  Maybe it was a word that was pronounced wrong or used incorrectly in an everday conversation between two people.  It could have been an impromptu, yet appropriate, prank that someone pulled. Or sometimes it was as simple as a facial expression that made us all crack up.  Expanding everyday moments into long lasting memories is the key to making laughter mandatory.

TAKE ACTION

Every year, the Los Pen staff keeps track of these tiny moments only to revisit them once again during the annual “End of the Year Roast”.  It is the highlight of the year as we not only celebrate a hard earned summer break, but also the light-hearted low-lights that took place over the last 180 days of school.  During a delicious breakfast, staff members take the stage to share stories that make fun of themselves and one another.  Just like comedians, some have become highly skilled at taking these tiny moments (or bits), expanding and embellishing their stories, and presenting them in the grandest fashion you can possibly imagine. Ask any member of the staff and they will share that The Roast is the kind of celebration that defines their culture as a team.
