Simply Christians

The word “Christian” is used 3 times in the Bible:

“And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” Acts 11:26 “Then Agrippa said to Paul, ‘You almost persuade me to become a Christian.’” Acts 26:28 “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.” 1 Peter 4:16

A warning is given in 1 Corinthians 1:12-13, “Now I say this, that each of you says, ‘I am of Paul,’ or ‘I am of Apollos,’ or ‘I am of Cephas,’ or ‘I am of Christ.’ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” This shows that while calling ourselves Christians, we should not divide into different groups. We see that the Bible says that we should never say that we are a special variety of Christian by calling ourselves by some man’s name, or some practice, or tradition.

We are committed to being simply Christians and simply following the Bible. “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3) Study with us about being simply what the Bible says we should be.

We Strive To Be The Same Church

Described In The New Testament

It is our purpose to be identified with the Christians of the first century. We believe this to be possible to all who will learn, believe, and be guided by the plain teaching of God’s Word.

When Jesus declared such to be “the seed of the kingdom”

Luke 8:11, He was emphasizing a known fact of nature. Specific kinds of seed, when planted, will always produce after their kind. For example, wheat will always produce wheat. In like manner, the word of God, when planted in the hearts of honest people, and obeyed, will produce Christians just as it did in the first century, nothing more nothing less
