A call to care for others is deeply rooted in each of us. Taking that step of courage to volunteer is what stops many. The greatest thing you can offer is yourself and your time. Change a person’s life for the better by getting involved in something bigger than yourself! Experience a sense of fulfillment and joy as God uses you to impact the lives of others in our church and our community. It's time to make a difference!

We can look around us and see all that God has blessed us with. But as we look closer, we are hit with realization that there are people in our midst who struggle to make it through their day, whether it’s finding their next meal or finding hope to keep going. At the Rock, we purpose to reach out to those around us who are in need. “Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39

The Giving Tree

Grace Home is our residence that is capable of housing many children (birth to age 18) who might otherwise be homeless or abusive circumstances.  These children are placed in our care voluntarily and are offered their own cozy bed, nutritional meals and snacks, nurturing by foster parents, tutoring, and an opportunity to experience a secure and enduring family home. Many of our children have been involved with domestic violence – either as a victim of or a witness to domestic violence.    It is not uncommon that children come to Grace Home with nothing more than the clothes they have on.  Often times this means babies in only a diaper or children without shoes.  They receive clothes to wear, food to fill their tummies, a bed with sheets, pillow and blanket which may be a first for them, and a sense of security they’ve not experienced in their lives.  Our mission is to be a life-changing instrument to them by providing for their physical, mental, and emotional wholeness.  This is accomplished in part by providing a positive family role model for the children.

It is The Giving Tree’s desire is to reunite families and this often means helping the parent or guardian with food, clothing, and the peace of mind that their children are being taken care of.  The Grace Home gives their children a safe and loving home to live in and in turn, parents are graced with the time necessary for them to get healthy, find a job, or whatever issues they need to overcome to be a suitable parent.

Children love, need and desire their parents.   The Giving Tree supports and educates parents of Grace Home children to prepare them to be able to provide the necessities of life and create a stable, healthy environment for themselves and their children. There is no greater satisfaction that reuniting a family.
