Overall and General Job Description for Campus Pastor’s at Alive Church:

 
  1. Responsible for preaching 4-6 weekends annually.
  1. Responsible for the pastoral care of those attending the local campus.
  1. Teaching and leading in the ministry of Life Groups.
  1. Leading and administrating campus staff and volunteers.
  1. Development and ongoing implementation of Cross Training leaders and courses in co-operation with teaching pastor at Alive church.
  1. Performing other pastoral care responsibilities such as weddings, funerals, baptisms, child dedication and counseling.
  1. The Campus Pastor is responsible for implementation of the creative content developed by the Alive Church central staff.
 
 

Primary Function:

The campus pastor has primary responsibility for the preparation and presentation of one physical location of Alive Church as a place that is leading people to be followers of Jesus. The role is primarily accomplished during the process of hosting large group events at the facility, Life Groups and as the liaison to the community.
This function is consistent with Eph 4:12-13 - to prepare God's people for works of service, so the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith.

The Campus Pastor Functions in these roles on a regular basis:

 

1. Face With A Place:

Maintains a welcoming presence for all attenders.
Emcee's celebration services for continuity, alignment of Alive Church’s Relevant Environment at the campus and to challenge all to take the next step in their journey.
Partners with all campus ministries by rolling up the sleeves from setup to tear down to ensure all are set for success.
Key Question: Am I making myself available and known to attenders and leaders?
 
 

2. Cheerleader:

Always looking for people doing something right: genuinely affirming volunteers, staff, and even new comers to the church
Key Questions: Am I a model for others of saying "thank you" to contributors and leaders? When is the last time I sent a "thank you" note?
 
 

3. Strategic Planner:

Leads the campus team to accomplish a unified vision: one church, with multiple locations in Leading People To Be Followers Of Jesus.
Leads the campus team to develop and implement campus-specific initiatives and objectives, in co-operation with the teaching pastor, to further the mission of leading people to be followers of Jesus.
Key Question: Am I and my team keeping in mind the big picture and vision of Alive Church when making decisions at a Campus level?
 
 

4. Team Leader:

Primary leader, developer, encourager, caregiver for campus staff and campus Cross Training Leadership team.
Leads team to develop, implement and measure progress, by our key indicators, towards campus key objectives and initiatives.
Leads campus participation in Summit Leadership training and uses campus specific breakouts to cast vision and measure progress.
Key Questions: Where are my teammates winning and what challenges can I help/pray about? How are we progressing with our key objectives and indicators? What events or holidays require vision casting and follow up?
 
 

5. Talent Scout:

Adventurously challenging individuals to lead...encouraging the use of spiritual gifts and talents through an individuals God given S.H.A.P. E. to be maximized for God's glory
Key Question: When was the last time I sat down with a staff member, leader or attender to say “I see in you…”
 
 

6. Quality Manager:

Partners with Cross Training leaders and staff members to ensure standards of excellence are in place and implemented.
Continually balancing the desire for consistent quality while developing adequate numbers of leaders and artists.
In the moment, leads the campus team to modify creative content to ensure the desired outcome.
Key Questions: When was the last time I met with my leadership/staff member to review/discuss the standards in excellence? What's the balance between achieving consistent quality and developing leaders and artists?
