No matter the temptation to run and abandon the plan, I am to go forth and meet my accusers. Call Judas friend, receive his kiss, and allow the band To take me to slaughter. Just as you did for me, Your Church. Weekend Bible Thought Sunday, January 1, 2012 7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. I Peter 4:7-8 (Read all of I Peter 4) We expect the return of Jesus Christ at any time. Praise the Lord! With this in mind let us remember that we are to redeem the time because the end of all things as we know it is at hand . . . at the door . . . and as they say, right around the corner. Sober mindedness is more than just the abstinence from strong drink . . . it also speaks of clear mindedness . . . right thinking . . . proper direction with our lives. The best advice any one can give or receive on this New Year day is to stay alert and pray. Resist the temptation to kick back and let someone or something other than the Lord Jesus Christ do the directing (or driving) in your life. Everything outside of Him is nothing more or less than a big distraction to pull you away from the Master's master plan for these last days. And above all saints . . . love one another . . . do it fervently . . . look for reasons to overlook the shortcomings of a brother or sister as long as it is not detrimental to them or others around them. Suffer long with one another and remember . . . looking at me and my faults is like looking into a mirror. You may not want to acknowledge it but the thing you detest most in others is somehow present in you. How else could you so readily recognize it? It is for this cause that we must be slow to judge . . . but when we do judge we must judge (determine or weigh the matter) righteously considering ourselves lest we also be tempted (or tried). My prayer for you (and myself) is that we surrender more of our selves (lives) to the Lord than ever before . . . knowing and trusting that He has everything in control. In HIm, bro. leroy |

Penny Wheat - "You are always such a blessing!! Love you much!!" |
Bob Law - "Brother Leroy, I know I a don't tell you and Joyce often enough, but I truly love you like a brother and sister. I don't feel that way about all of my relatives. I appreciate you very much. Bob Law" |
Tom Chapman - "Dear Brothers Leroy “the Elder” & “the Younger,”
Fifteen years ago, under special circumstances, I prayed for a black Christian brother with a Biblical view of politics. I felt that you “the Elder” were a partial answer to that prayer until earlier this week. I now know that you both are a twofold, full answer to my prayer. You met the criteria but I didn’t realize it until seeing that my view had changed to the Biblical view. Thank you both for being my friend.
Your brother in Christ,
Tom

Kathy Payne - "Type an encouraging note here....Mr.Leroy, thank you for inviting my mother and I to your Bible Study on Tuesday night I am sure it will be a blessing just like you and your family are." |
Tom Chapman - "Dear Brother Leroy (the Elder),
It was a pleasant surprise and blessing to have you join "the Tyrant" and I today. Your presence allowed him to "pearce my heart" and "step on my toes" indirectly but just as effectively. I am thankful that through Christ we are brothers but it is a true privilege to have you for a friend.
In Christ,
Tom " |
Kathryn Massey - "What a blessing your family is to us. We miss hearing that awesome voice of yours. God has blessed you with a wonderful voice. We love you!
