Greater Life Church Family and Friends:

This Sunday is Leadership Day at Greater Life: We will have opportunity to confirm the Leadership Team/Board which will direct the ministries of Greater Life Church and assist the pastoral team in administration for the new fiscal church year - 2010 - 2011 which will begin on June 1, 2010. Pastor Leray will be sharing a message from the Bible entitled: “Back to the Future.” Greater Life Church will soon celebrate its ninth year of existence. How are we doing in accomplishing the mission we started with nine years ago? Are there some things that we need to review, recover, renew and embrace for the future? The New Testament Early Church came into existence in a culture that was both secularized and highly spiritual at the same time. The culture of the government and society then has many similarities to what we are facing in America today. Are there some lessons we can learn from the Early Church. We will explore that this Sunday. If you would like to know who is on the Confirmation Ballot for the Church Leadership Board go to: Church Leadership Board Nominees

Crave463 youth will meet this Wednesday evening at the Village at 7:00 PM. We will share life, pizza, games and a lesson from the Bible on how we can make the most of conflict in our families and relationships. Bring a friend!

So are doubts and faith compatible? What do you do with doubts? Do doubts draw you closer to God and drive you further away from God? If you missed last Sunday, check it out at: Sermon Notes

JOG TRACK

Journey to Greater Life

(in Christ)

Where are you going in your spiritual life?  What a great opportunity to get on the JOG Path to Greater Life in Christ. The Bible instructs us to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ! At Greater Life several markers are offered to assist in taking your spiritual life to the next level with purpose! Discover what it means to belong, to make a difference in the lives of others with your SHAPE (spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, passion and experiences), to develop spiritual habits that give you power and to connect with people who are looking for a relationship with God. Take look at the Markers below and use the “Take the Path to Greater Life” section of this worship folder to sign-up! The times, date and location of the Markers will be determined by the number of those who are signed-up. You can also signup online at www.glcchurch.com  in the online community under “Events”

Greater Life Marker One: Just as every football player must make a commitment to a TEAM, so every believer needs to belong to a TEAM. This class is designed to explore what it means to belong to team of believers known as Greater Life Community Church. What do we believe? What is the vision and strategy for the future? How are we organized? See where you belong on the TEAM.

Greater Gifts Marker Two:  Just as every team member has a special role to fulfill on a team, so every believer in the Body of Christ has a SHAPE for a specific purpose in ministry. This class is designed to assist you in discovering your SHAPE for ministry - Your Spiritual Gifts, Your Heart, Your Abilities, and our Passion and Your Experiences! This is your invitation to get off the bench and get in the game! Do more than just belong!

Greater Love Marker Three: Every team player must take responsibility for personally developing their bodies for maximum effectiveness in the position that they play in the game. So it is with every believer. This class is designed to assist you in developing a lifestyle and habits the will maximize the spiritual power in your life. This spiritual power is rooted and grounded in the development of real and genuine love in your life. Don’t just belong or get involved - get serious about your effectiveness in partnership with God.

Greater Mission Marker Four: No team has a future without recruitment! The Church of Jesus Christ has not future unless people come to fall in love with Jesus Christ! So how does one get to know Jesus? Every believer is called to be a “witness” for Jesus Christ. This class explores what this means. It is not manipulation, but persuasion that flows out of meaningful relationships. This class will assist in recognizing where God is already at work in people’s lives and how you can partner with God in pointing them to the Greater Life that is found only in Christ! The goal is not a Super Bowl win - it is Eternity! You belong, you are equipped, you are living the life, now do not go to heaven alone. Take someone with you!

Integrity Life Skills: is a licensed professional learning center affiliate of Life Skills International. (www.lifeskillintl.org ) The classes are offered to men and women separately. The information learned has helped tens of thousands of people in the last twenty-nine years in all professions and walks of life to improve their leadership skills, their relationships, their self-concept and to gain victory over destructive patterns of reactive living. New classes are being formed for the near future that would meet on Tuesday evenings. If you have not yet scheduled an Orientation Session to signup, you can do so today by using the “Take the Path to Greater Life” section of this worship folder and then place it in the Communication/offering box as you leave today. You will not regret this investment in yourself and your future. Website: www.lifeskillsintl.org or call 515-554-1604 for more info.
