Activities Committee
Vision/Purpose: To plan and coordinate different activities that will reach every member of the family and show them the need for Christ in their lives.
Activities/Events: Valentines Dinner (couples); Kid’s Celebration (children); Sundae Sunday (everyone); Family Game Nights (everyone)
Apples of His Eye Ladies Bible Study
Vision/Purpose: To reach women who are hungry for God’s Word by spending God-centered and Word-centered time together. Our desire is to see women grow spiritually while loving one another and serving together.
Activities/Events: Weekly meetings from September to November and from March to May.
AWANA
Vision/Purpose: “To reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.” Awana is designed to immerse children in a solid foundational teaching and understanding of the Bible as well as to give unsaved boys and girls a regular opportunity to hear the gospel and come to faith in Christ. As clubbers advance each year, emphasis on following Christ in daily living is taught.
Activities/Events: Weekly meetings from September to April; Awana store (2 times per year); Awana Grand Prix; Special “theme” nights throughout the year.
Awana is for boys and girls age 3 through the 6th grade.
Bereavement Committee
Vision/Purpose: To provide some measure of comfort to grieving families by providing a family meal after the loss of a loved one.
Activities/Events: Provide meals following funerals as needed.
Children’s Choir
Vision/Purpose: To reach children and teach them about God through music. Embedding God’s Word in their hearts and serving others by ministering through music.
Activities/Events: Weekly meetings during the Sunday evening worship service from September through May.
Children’s Church
Vision/Purpose: To teach children about God and Jesus through Bible stories, crafts and games.
Activities/Events: Weekly meetings during the Sunday morning worship service.
Children’s Church is for boys and girls ages 5 and 6.
Deacon Board
Vision/Purpose: The Deacons, along with the Pastor, shall have charge of the spiritual life of the church.
Activities/Events: Monthly meetings; quarterly reports to the church.
Decorating Committee
Vision/Purpose: To create a physical setting that provides an atmosphere of worship and honor to God. It is our desire that when people enter our church they feel welcome, comfortable and have a desire to worship.
Activities/Events: Seasonal decorating of the church facility.
Finance Committee
Vision/Purpose: To manage the finances of the church in a way that honors and glorifies our Lord.
Activities/Events: Formulate and recommend the annual church budget; periodic meetings to evaluate the financial position of the church; give regular reports to the church body at quarterly business meetings.
Hospitality Committee
Vision/Purpose: Organizing dinners, picnics, and other events to grow as a church body through fellowship. Hebrews 10:25 “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Activities/Events: Chili/Soup Day; Homecoming; and other special events.
Men’s Bible Study
Vision/Purpose: To provide an opportunity for our men to increase their knowledge of the Word of God and to grow in their relationship with the Lord.
Activities/Events: Weekly meetings from September to November and January to March.
Men’s Basketball
Vision/Purpose: To provide our men with an opportunity for physical exercise and Christian fellowship.
Activities/Events: Weekly gym time from October to March.
Mission Committee
Vision/Purpose: The vision of the mission committee is the realization that the Word of God has been spread to every corner of the world and to have been heard by every man, woman and child. The purpose of the mission committee toward accomplishment of that vision is to work with the pastor to plan, implement and evaluate mission activities.
Activities/Events: Bi-annual Mission’s Conferences; periodic local mission projects. Coordinate periodic reports and visits from supported missionaries.
Music Ministry (Choir)
Vision/Purpose: The singing of the DMBC choir is always dedicated to the glory of God as we seek to simply give our gifts back to our creator through song. As a music ministry, we serve out of a sense of gratitude to God for what he has done for us, we seek to sing songs according to the truth of God’s Word, enhance the worship service, be a blessing to those who hear, and find joy as we sing.
Activities/Events: Weekly choir practice (Sunday’s 5:30PM); Christmas Cantata; Easter Mini-Cantata
Nominating Committee
Vision/Purpose: To prayerfully consider and fill the leadership positions in the various ministries of DMBC.
Activities/Events: Present list of nominees at the annual church business meeting for church clerk, treasure, and ministry directors.
Nursery
Vision/Purpose: To be a blessing to the church by providing child care during each of our worship services.
Activities/Events: Child care provided for Sunday and Wednesday services.
The nursery is for children under the age of 2.
S.A.M.’s (Senior Adult Ministry)
Vision/Purpose: To reach seniors age 50+ from DMBC, other churches, and non-churched with a program of fellowship through Bible study, a potluck meal, games, prize drawings, readings, and other activities. Members support and encourage each other in their spiritual and physical lives, to display affection and caring for those who attend, and those who are in the community. Provide flowers to attendees families to show care and support. Christian music, devotionals and readings to appeal to any unsaved to be reached for Christ.
Activities/Events: Monthly meetings (3rd Thursday of each month)
Sunday School
Vision/Purpose: Our Sunday School classes are designed for the entire family. We have various classes for children, teens and adults. This is a great time for you to study God’s Word with your church family in a small group that is less formal and allows for more interaction. Our teachers prepare lessons that are designed to help you gain a greater understanding of God’s Word and grow in your relationship with the Lord.
Activities/Events: Classes meet every Sunday at 9:45AM.
Super Church
Vision/Purpose: To teach children the Word of God in a church service structured lesson. To give young people a place where they can learn about the Lord and to build solid foundations of truth so that they may begin a relationship with the Lord and be baptized. To see them grow stronger and bolder in their witness for the Lord with some fun and fellowship along the way.
Activities/Events: Weekly meetings from September to June (during the Sunday morning worship service)
Super Church is for boys and girls in grades 2-6.
Technical Team
Vision/Purpose: To assist and enhance the worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the use of sound and video technology.
Activities/Events: Powerpoint for congregational singing and pastor’s messages; provide sound for the Choir, Special music, etc.
Teen Ministry
Vision/Purpose: To reach teenagers in our church and community for Christ. Presenting the gospel to those that are lost and helping believers to grow spiritually in their walk with the Lord.
Activities/Events: Weekly meetings each Sunday; kick-off cookout; summer camp; bowling; Christmas party; tubing; progressive dinner, etc.
Toddlers
Vision/Purpose: To be a blessing to the church by providing child care during each of our worship services.
Activities/Events: Weekly child care provided for Sunday and Wednesday services.
Toddlers is for children age 2, 3 or 4.
Trustee Board
Vision/Purpose: The Trustees shall, as provided by law and the action of the church, hold in trust the title to all property of the church and shall represent the church in all matters of legal responsibility regarding the purchase, improvement and disposal of church property.
Activities/Events: Monthly meetings; general maintenance of the church; quarterly reports to the church.
Ushers/Greeters
Vision/Purpose: To make every person feel welcome and at home as they enter DMBC.
Activities/Events: Greet, welcome and give bulletins to worshippers of DMBC.
Vacation Bible School
Vision/Purpose: To provide an evangelistic outreach and spiritual encouragement to the children of our church and community.
Activities/Events: Different theme every summer (i.e. SonRock); penny drive for the missionaries; Bible stories, crafts, games and singing each night.
