Rev. Orville W. Jenkins, Jr.
A native of Fresno, CA, Dr. Jenkins was the son of a minister and spent time growing up in Topeka, KS, Salem, OR, Lubbock, TX, and Kansas City, MO, where he went to high school. Upon graduation from Southern Nazarene Univ. in 1966, he attended graduate school at the Univ. of Missouri at Kansas City, and then sensing a call to ministry, enrolled at Nazarene Theological Seminary where he graduated in 1972. His pastoral assignments have included Lawrence, KS, Bethany, OK, New York, NY, Dallas, TX, and Jacksonville, FL. In 2000 he was elected superintendent of the North Florida District for the Church of the Nazarene. He and his wife, Nancy, met in Oklahoma City where she was a school teacher, and they married in 1980. They have four children: Tyler, Travis, Patrick, and Whitney. In 2008 Trevecca Nazarene Univ. conferred upon Dr. Jenkins an honorary Doctor of Ministry degree.
