Thanksgiving Opens Doors For Further Blessings - Tuesday, April 9thPastor AnitaAnd one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole (Luke 17:15-19).
It pays to understand the signals of the Spirit! The Lord Jesus on a certain day encountered ten lepers who importuned Him to have mercy on them. In response, He said to them, "…Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed" (Luke17:14). Notice that Jesus didn’t tell the lepers, "You’re healed." He just gave them an instruction, and they went in obedience to the Word. As they went, they were cleansed! Then one of the lepers, who realized he had been healed, returned to give glory to God and the Lord answering, said, "...Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole" (Luke17:17-19). In giving God thanks, you receive more than healing; you receive wholeness! Some people fail to notice the supernatural things God does for them, and therefore fail to give Him thanks. Remember, they don’t have to be spectacular to be supernatural. Your ability to recognize His blessings in your life, and glorify Him as a result, will take you from "being healed" to "being made whole." As our text reveals, the Samaritan that returned to give thanks received much more than healing; he was made whole. Everything he had lost because of the leprosy was restored to him. This is particularly significant because leprosy eats up the victim’s extremities and leaves scars. The fact that someone is healed of it doesn’t mean he’d have his affected body parts restored. But the grateful Samaritan positioned himself for more when he returned to give the Lord thanks. In giving God thanks, you open the door for more miracles and blessings in your life. Prayer Dear Father, my heart is full of thanks and gratitude to you for the blessings of your Word and the impact of your Spirit in my life. Thank you for your grace and lovingkindness, and the wonderful privilege to be called by your Name. I worship and glorify you today, in Jesus’ Name. Pastor Chris
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:6).
The Bible says that He (Jesus) was made sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). The idea of the salvation Jesus wrought for us is one of total substitution; He took our place of sin and gave us His righteousness.
An analogy of our salvation in Christ is painted of a man who had been condemned to death for his wrong and was waiting to be drowned. But one of his kin came and said, "I’ll take his place; drown me in his stead." He didn’t say, "Drown him and I’ll throw in a rope or send in divers to rescue him," which would have been wonderful. Rather, He took the place of the condemned man. That’s the salvation that we have in Christ. He saved us by giving Himself in our place so we could go free.
Jesus didn’t just save you from sin; He also gave you His life. The realization of the importance of the sacrifice of Christ on your behalf will make you appreciate His vicarious death and appropriate the benefits of salvation in your life. The Bible says, "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted" (Isaiah 53:4). That means He took your place of punishment. The chastisement of our peace, that is, the punishment that brought us life and peace, was upon Him.
Today, because of the sacrifice of Jesus on your behalf, sin and its effect and consequences should not have dominion over you. Now you’re free to serve the Lord and live gloriously for Him.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to die in my place, thereby paying the penalty for my sins. I rejoice, knowing that His sacrifice for sin was the ultimate sacrifice by which I now stand justified in your presence. Thank you for ushering me into this new life of righteousness, where I now reign and rule with Christ forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Don’t Ask For Revival · Thursday, February 14th · Pastor Chris Never lag in zeal {and} in earnest endeavor; be aglow {and} burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord (Romans 12:11AMP).
King David asked in Psalm 85:6, "Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" Many Christians today unwittingly pray like this, asking the Lord for revival. The new man in Christ doesn’t need revival. All through the Epistles, none of the Apostles ever asked God for a revival. That’s because we have in our day something the Old Testament folks didn’t have; we can be filled with the Spirit and revived from within. We can maintain the glow of the Spirit twenty-four hours every day by praying fervidly in other tongues. This is something you must take seriously this year; be afire for the Lord, bubbling and exuberant in the spirit every day! Jesus said in Acts 1:8, "And ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." The power that Jesus refers to here is inherent power; power that reproduces or revives itself. When you pray in tongues, the same glory that the apostles experienced in the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:2-4) can come on you, and you can maintain that glow consistently every day. When you feel weak from within, speak in other tongues, and revive yourself. Jude 1:20 says, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost." The solution you require is inside you. The Bible says, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels…" (2 Corinthians 4:7). When you have tough choices and decisions to make, spend time to speak in tongues first! When it looks as though you don’t know what to do, or how to handle the challenges that are coming at you, set yourself to pray fervently in the Spirit! You’ll be stirred and set in the flow of the Spirit to receive direction as to what to do, and how to do it. Confession The power of the Spirit is at work mightily in me today, and I’m charged from within for good works. I’m effective in the ministry of the Gospel, energized and aflame for the Lord, as my heart beats with the desire to do His will, in Jesus’ Name.
