  Psalm 80:19

"Turn us again, O Lord God of host, cause thy face to shine: and we shall be saved." Psalm 80:19 (Emphasis added)

The repeated plea that is found in this verse and in verse 7 and once again in part in verse 3 ask God to cause His people to turn toward Him and see Him face to face rather than to continue to turn their backs on Him. The language of this Psalm cries out for the mercy of God while realizing that God is justified in His action of allowing His disobedient people to suffer the consequence of their rebellion against Him. Knowing that God's desire is to restore His people, the writer pleads with God to cause a return of the people to Him so that the blessings could flow from God's Hand to His people. With personal and national application, this should be the prayer of God's people today. If this is the condition of our heart and the heart of our Nation, then let us ask God to allow or cause what is necessary to turn us back toward Him. Yes," turn us again, O Lord of Host, cause thy face to shine: and we shall be saved."
