I dunno when you guys get school off, but my vacation started like, a couple weeks ago, so I seriously will miss you guys over the next few weeks! What am I gonna do?! I have a couple last minute things to get for my family for Christmas, but I'm not expecting anything huge at all :) I hope I don't get anything! I was just looking in my room the other day and realized how much crap I have. Well, I honestly don't need a lot of it! But each thing, no matter how small it is, happens to be important to my room for some reason. I can't wait for like a yard sale so I can sell it all!
Well ANYWAYS, have a great Christmas and let me know if any of you guys wanna hang out and do somethin, 90% of the time I'm up for it!

Psalms 141:3-4
Post a guard at my mouth, God,
set a watch at the door of my lips.
Don't let me so much as dream of evil
or thoughtlessly fall into bad company.
And these people who only do wrong—
don't let them lure me with their sweet talk!
May the Just One set me straight,
may the Kind One correct me,
Don't let sin anoint my head.
I'm praying hard against their evil ways!
This is very straightforward. God, don't let me say anything of hate or evil to others! Please help me with what I say to people or myself! Don't let me do anything that would hurt me or You! Don't let me even get a taste of what they're drinking or doing around me, don't let me step anywhere where they are! Basically, help me stay out of temptation of doing things that would not glorify You! I'm praying for Your help!

Just testing this whole blog thing out, seein' how it works and all! What's up?
Ok so I read Day 1's devotional this week and the question is, "What can you do to show your faith to others?" So I asked myself that a few times to see if I understood it. There are several ways you can do this, actually. At first my list was very small, but in just a couple minutes it grew into a huge tree; there is a lot you can do to show your faith! Let me list a few:
Music
What you listen to has a big impact not only on your life but others around you! Try to find some cool Christian music and play it, maybe people will actually like it! We're not just talkin' old Gospel or whatever's on 91.5 with WKCL; be creative! I don't know if you've heard of bands like Newsboys or Audio Adrenaline or Swift, but those bands are really kickin in the rock genre right now. If you're into hip hop, well there's John Reuben, KJ-52, Royal Rukus, the list goes on!
Language
Again, what you talk about around others is a very important concept! If you talk about things that everyone else is talking about, and it's something you know you really shouldn't talk about, back up! Either change the subject or seriously back out. At first people will think you're crazy, but maybe they'll think differently about you, and for the better! They will wonder why you don't cuss or why you don't put others down, or why you don't tell dirty jokes. Don't be afraid to tell them that you feel God doesn't want you to talk like that with others! Be an example! This is great stuff!
Religion
Building faith with others is another pretty good building block to work on. How many are around you that believe in a god? Never hurts to ask! And when you are around friends that do follow God, feel free to talk about him!
Prayer, Bible, Personal
By now you should know I'm not just giving simple church answers here, but this is a good reminder that yes, praying to Jesus, reading your Bible, those are great faith builders! The more you pray or read about God, the more faith you have in Him, don't you think? Some of this can be on your own personal time or with others.
Personally I like to just type or talk it out, how I feel about certain things. By typing this, I feel like I've gained even more faith in the Lord! There are a lot of things that I am working on right now, and this is helping me be more clear to myself that I need to follow through with them! Building your faith and expressing it, there are a lot of ways to do it! I encourage you to type your own thoughts and feelings every now and then or talk to others, and feel free to share them with me on here or in the real world because I will definitely take the time and read them or listen to you, I want to see how similar my thoughts are with yours on these kinds of things! That's exactly why I go to Summerbrook right now; I really like to see that others are following the same guy I'm following! It builds my faith!
Well ... I like this blog thing! I don't know how frequent my posts will be on here or how long they'll be, since this was my first blog I posted a ton already, if you're lucky I might actually throw an update out there about my life! Like right now, things are going very well, just have two tests tomorrow, and then final exams next week, it's going to be crazy! Our new black lab Deacon (I'll call him Dee from now on so pay attention in future blogs!) has learned that our cats are not squirrels, but real live animals that we care about and love on! So he and the girl cat Sassy are slowly becoming friends. With Dee and my male cat Widget it's kind of a different story. Right now Widget's chillin with me because Dee's out in the garage, but all day today he was hiding upstairs, too scared to come out!
My life in a bottle =) catch you later!
