Pastor Mark Taylor Blog   I don't know if I really have a personal motto, but I've always been a kindof person that believes pretty strongly in keeping your head up. Most of our problems are not as bad as they seem and Jesus is in control of them anyway. God Bless.

  Keep your eyes open...

I recently had an experience that had the potential of being really bad.  Fortunately, I have been walking with the LORD long enough, I have some great friends in Christ and Godly wisdom to make good choices.  I was in a situation with my job where I could have very easily fallen into sin, but, thanks be to God, I saw it coming a mile away.

The interesting thing is this...as I was going through this situation, the LORD kindof whispered something to me that I thought was quite profound, hopefully it will help someone else out there.

The enemy is not always going to show up being mean and ugly - he's not always going to tempt you with something that is destructive and deadly on the surface.  The Bible says that he may come as an "angel of light".  In reality, the devil is a lot smarter than we are on our own...we've got him hands down in the Spirit, but we're not always on top of our game spiritually.  The enemy may come at you with something that looks pretty darn good externally or initially, but is death not too far down the road.  This could be a variety of things...new job, new boyfriend or girlfriend, someone being extra friendly to you when you're already married, financial schemes, etc...

Here's the bottom line, ask the LORD to give you eyes to see the spirit in an opportunity...the Bible says to test the spirits...don't be quick to jump at something, if it's God, He won't mind you making sure...just ask Gideon.

God Bless

Mark

  Delight in the LORD

I have been walking with the LORD for almost 10 years now, sometimes close, sometimes not so close.  But over the past few years the LORD has done a tremendous amount in my life.  He has called me out and by His grace, strength and mercy I have responded with, "here I am, LORD..."  He has opened doors in my life that, 5 years ago, I never would have even considered, but I have learned and seen manifest in my life the promises in His word.  "if you delight yourself in the LORD, He will give you the desires of your heart."  This doesn't mean what we think it does.  We think this means that God will give us all kinds of worldly things...jobs, financial blessings, friends, family, etc...   But I believe what Jesus was saying is that He will uncover the things inside of us that pertain to His kingdom and the Spiritual man inside of us.  God is will able to give you a job, or a spouse, or anything this world has - but many of these things are not found in your heart, they're more like dreams that we have in our head.

We were made to worship God and know Him, to walk close with Him, to hear His voice.  Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and I have never expreienced anything remotely close to the voice and the touch of God.  We were made to be His children and we were made to operate and function in His kingdom, now, here on earth...that's what's in my heart, your heart really...it just gets buried and hidden by sin and wordly desires.  Allow God to peel back the layers and let Him inside, you won't regret it...He is amazing and astounding and will turn your world upside down......in a good way!!

God Bless

Mark
