Luke 21:33
"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Luke 21:33
Looking for that which is secure and dependable in a world that is in a downward spiral? Here it is! The Word of God! Jesus is teaching His disciples concerning the coming of the Kingdom of God and some of the signs that accompany it's appearing. As He does so, He reminds them of the signs of nature and how they could always tell when summer was near, by the appearing of the buds on the fig tree. He explains that the signs of the Kingdom can just as surely be determined as we attend to the Word of God and only that. He then gives us the assurance that as the world around us changes, we cannot look at things that change to determine the signs of spiritual things, but only that which does not and will never change, THE WORD OF GOD. How foolish we are to neglect His Word and depend on the philosophies of men and their leadership. We must trust Him and His Word to have peace, joy and the calm assurance that we can live and die by the authority of His Word alone. Remember, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." These are the words of Jesus, and you can trust them.

Romans 8:31
"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31
As Paul explores the sovereign work of God in bringing His chosen ones to salvation, he comes to these questions that bring great comfort and peace once they are answered according to the Scriptures. The first question asks, what answers can we give to the awesome fact that God has brought us from where we were, dead in trespasses and sin, to where we are now, alive in Jesus Christ all by His grace? My only answer has to be, thank you Lord for your mercy and grace you have shown toward me. The second question asks, If God is on our side, as His children of grace, then who would dare attempt to stand against our great God? My answer is absolutely no one. With these two questions answered according to the Scriptures, I will rest in peace without fear of conditions around me, for I am assured that He lives in me and I am satisfied.

Luke 14:11
"For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." Luke 14:11
The Lord Jesus uses the example of a person that chooses to think that they deserve a better seat at a wedding than someone else in order to teach a great lesson on humility. I must confess, in my opinion, there has never been a generation of Christians that need this lesson more than this generation. It breaks my heart to see the pride and arrogance that seems to be predominant among many believers. It seems that being presumptuous toward God and others is what many consider as faith talk. I really believe that these are good God loving brothers and sisters that have bought into a erroneous teaching that will result in heartbreak and difficulty in the lives of so many. May our Lord grant each of us the understanding of how great He is and how we stand in need of some great lessons in humility. Lord help us!

Galatians 4:16
"Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?" Galatians 4:16
As Paul writes to the Church in Galatia, he is seeking to restore them to the truth of living in the grace of God rather than in the legalism that they had fallen into by the hands of erroneous teachers. As he spoke to them of the truth of God's Word concerning their error, some railed upon him and refused his teaching. In the process of attempting to teach the truth to them, he asked if he became their enemy because he loved them enough to tell them the truth. The sad fact of this statement is as real today as it was when Paul spoke these words. Many would rather refuse the truth and the teachers of truth, than to admit the fact of error. Many do this because the teaching that they are following is what they want to believe, rather than the fact that it is error. One fact remains, no matter what one chooses to believe, believing will not change the truth of God. If you are searching for truth, you will only find it in the entirety of the Word of God, and not what someone teaches you about the Word. Search for yourself and ask God to give you His truth.

Romans 15:13
"Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost." Romans 15:13
As Paul points the Gentile believers toward the truth of the oneness of every believer with Christ, be they Jew or Gentile, he closes his thesis with an admonition that you and I today can benefit from. We can have all joy and peace by believing the truths of God, and this peace comes from the God of all hope. As we rejoice in the salvation that is given freely to those that believe, we can abound in hope by the power of the Holy Ghost. This glorious truth will sustain us in difficulties and keep our heart focused on the Lord Jesus rather than the circumstances around us. May your day be filled with joy as you focus on HIM who is the All Together Lovely One.

II Corinthians 11:3
"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds, should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." II Corinthians 11:3
In his great love for Christians in Corinth, Paul brings to light some of the error that is being taught to them. In doing so he explains his concern and the damage that allowing these false teachings to infiltrate the Church could do and that irreparable spiritual damage to the believers could occur. He explains that his fear is that the minds of Christians could be corrupted from the simplicity that is in the message of Jesus Christ. How powerful is his explanation concerning the simple Gospel Message and the need to keep it simple and pure so that the message would not get lost in the rhetoric of those that desired to cloud the truth. I urge you today to celebrate the simplicity that is in Christ and the Message of His Gospel, and guard it with all your being. Remember the mind is the battle field, and the simple truth is our weapon.

I Corinthians 2:5
"That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." I Corinthians 2:5
Paul the Apostle writes to the believers in Corinth concerning the difference between human wisdom and the power of God. He reminds them that excellency of speech of human wisdom does not necessarily equate to the truth of God. Often people are persuaded more by people’s ability to orate rather than the truth being spoken. Truth may be given in simple terms and by an uneducated spoke person. Yet the charisma of the speaker or the eloquence of the words spoken may appeal to the intellect yet miss the mark of being true. We must allow God's Spirit within us to validate truth according to His Word and not by the wisdom of men. Spiritual discernment is so important and this verse is great advice for Christians in our world today.

Ephesisans 2:4-6, Ephesians 2:19
I realize that these two Scriptures fit together perfectly, so please accept them and one thought!
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (for by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Ephesisans 2:4-6
When I read this I see who God is and how He works. Because of this I just want to stop everything and give thanks to my Lord for having mercy on a sinner who was dead because of sin, yet because of His great love, He extended His mercy, and by His grace made me alive in Christ Jesus by giving His Son's life so that I could live in Him. I praise you my Lord and My God!
"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God." Ephesians 2:19
Welcome to the Family! By the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and faith in His blood, we are no longer outsiders to God but we are part of His FAMILY. What a wonderful truth. Not outcast any more, no longer a stranger of foreigner, but we are now His Children and can call God our Abba, (Father). Think about this today, and give God praise for all He has done and in doing in your life!

John 6:33
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 6:33
Jesus has just told His disciples of His coming death, resurrection and the Second Advent. He speaks of some of the difficulties that they will face, and then He leaves them with this precious promise. The fact that although they will have to deal with some adversities before He returns, He wants them to know that His peace will be with them and that He has overcome the world, they will be victorious in doing the same. So whatever you and I face today, or tomorrow, Jesus has made sure that His peace abides with us, for we are in Him. Rest, in His peace!

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (Emphasis added)
Looking for a spiritual GPS for your life? We are given the absolute assurance of directions for our lives as we trust in the Lord and not allow our own human instincts and intelligence to interfere with His leadership. To acknowledge Him is the key to having His Hand guide us in all pathways of life. Should we get off course, and we will, we must remember that He is still the only way to redirect (repent means to change directions) our path and keep us on the pathway of Trust in Him.
